David Rudisha To Make Third Appearance in Shanghai Diamond League 800 MetersBy Adam Kopet David Rudisha is scheduled to race May 12 in the 800 meters at the Shanghai Diamond League meeting, according to an event release. This will be Rudisha's third straight appearance in Shanghai. He finished fifth in 2016 before he went on to win the Olympic title in Rio. Rudisha finished third last year, but an injury prevented him from racing at the 2017 IAAF World Outdoor Championships in London. Rudisha is a two-time Olympic champion and a two-time world champion at 800. He has broken the world record three times in his career. His current world-record mark of 1:40.91 was set in the 2012 Olympic final. |
